Other units you will just end up doing a ton of field rotations and never deploying, or deploying somewhere there isn't work for you. Limited aspects of it can be done in the current environment, but not everything. None of the work is actually that difficult, just.army be stupid sometimes and it can get on your nerves.ĭay to Day "deployed": If you go to certain units you will deploy and do your job some. And by hard I mean shifting timelines and shifting goalposts. It isn't hard, but it can get stupid as with any bureaucracy. Do not fail or you will be reclassed to something you may enjoy less.ĭay to Day in garrison: Training, motor pool and busywork. Get disciplined too many times and you are now at the mercy of Big Army ®. Fail to complete your homework and you will be disciplined. Six or seven hours a day of language instruction, followed by homework and studying. Go for them.īut first, you will need to attend DLI and pass your language. You may learn more about these opportunities during AIT. But you must go through their selection process. If you end up in a unit you have to apply for, you will have a wonderful time. And you're more likely to get your schools. You might be in business casual most of the time because the culture is better. You will work in environments surrounded by civilians and contractors (probably) and you will enjoy life. If you end up in an INSCOM unit, you will do your job. But if you can't explain why it's important to go to these schools, you will have failed as a 35M. Motorpool, details, units that don't know how to use you or your skills, which means they'll likely not send you to fun HT-JCoE schools, despite them now being entirely paid for by HT-JCoE. If you end up in a FORSCOM unit, you will have a typical Army soldiering experience. ![]() will be stationed closer to the pacific, whereas Arabic and European languages will be stationed closer to the Atlantic. The way 35M billets work currently, per branch, is that it's based on your language. For your first contract, unless you decide to attend and pass RASP, you will likely be in a FORSCOM unit, with a chance of being in an INSCOM unit. It will depend entirely, 100% on your unit.
